boarding facilities

 

Boarding is organised into four separate Boarding Houses.

There are two houses for boys:  Bulkeley House for Years 7-12 and Ives House Years 5-12. Girls live in Thompson House and Galloway House which has separate wings of the House for the Junior Girls (Year 6 – 9) and the Senior Girls (Year 10 – 12.)

All boarding houses have been recently upgraded and offer dormitory-style accommodation with a divided cubicle space for privacy consisting of king single bed, a bed-side table and a double wardrobe as well as a prep cupboard located in the prep/ homework room. Year 11 rooms have built in desks located in each room. Year 12 have study desks in their rooms. Each House has separate senior and junior kitchen areas, toilets, showers and recreational rooms with lounges and TV screens. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. A suitcase storage room is provided. Outdoor facilities consist of gym equipment, picnic tables and gardens.

Bulkeley House

Bulkeley House is a two-storey building which accommodates approximately 50 Year 7 to Year 12 boys. The floors consist of dormitory rooms for Years 7 to 10, 3-4 bedroom cubicles for Year 11 and single rooms for Year 12. Each boy has their own king single bed, a bed-side table and a double wardrobe as well as a prep cupboard located in the prep room. Year 11 rooms have built in desks located in each room. Year 12 have study desks in their rooms.

There is a common kitchen and 2x recreational rooms and a purpose built prep room. Year 12 have access to laundry and ironing facilities. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network.

Under each bed there is storage access and a suitcase storage room is provided.

Ives House

Ives House is a single storey building that accommodates approximately 26 Year 5 to 12 boys. Each boy has their own king single bed, a bedside table and a double wardrobe. Year 11 cubicles have built in desks and Year 12 have study desks in their rooms. There is a common kitchen and a recreational room. Year 12 have access to laundry and ironing facilities. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. Under each bed there is storage access and a suitcase storage room is provided.

Galloway House

Galloway House is a single storey building which accommodates approximately 50 girls. There are separate wings of the House for the Junior Girls Year 6 to Year 9 and the Senior Girls Year 10 to Year 12. The Junior Girls are accommodated in dormitory style rooms, however each girl has a divided cubicle space for privacy. Each cubicle has a single bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and a privacy curtain. The Junior Girls in Year 6 – Year 9 have a purpose-built prep/ homework and study area.

The Senior Girls are in dormitory accommodation; however, each girl has a divided cubicle space for privacy which is larger in size than the Juniors. Each cubicle has a single bed, chest of drawers, a study desk, wardrobe and a privacy curtain. Year 12 Girls are accommodated in single rooms. The House has separate senior and junior kitchen areas, toilets, showers and common rooms as well as a shared courtyard. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. A suitcase storage room is provided.

Thompson House

Thompson House is a two-storey building which accommodates approximately 50 girls. There are separate areas of the House for Junior Girls Year 6 to Year 9 and Senior Girls Year 10 to Year 12. The Junior Girls are accommodated in dormitory style rooms, however each girl has a divided cubicle space for privacy. Each cubicle has a single bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and a privacy curtain. The Junior Girls Year 6 to Year 9 have a purpose built prep/ homework and study area.

Year 12 Girls are accommodated in single rooms. The House has separate senior and junior kitchen areas, toilets, showers and common rooms. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. A suitcase storage room is provided.

All meals are provided daily for boarding students on Scots Campus or All Saints Campus for Middle School boarding students during school hours. Meals are nutritionally balanced by professional caterers in the campus Dining hall. Many day students opt-in for lunches at the College. Meal times are regarded as important community-building opportunities where the boarders and day students forge friendships as they share lunches together.

 

Other Facilities on Campus

Boarders have access to a number of facilities within the College grounds including use of tennis courts, indoor aquatic centre, sports centre, weights room, cricket nets and various ovals and playing fields. The Performing Arts Centre, Library, Sports Centre, Aquatic Centre and Computer Rooms are available during designated times with supervision.

The Girl’s Boarding houses overlook the equestrian facilities and paddocks where students who own their own horse can also board with them and live in close proximity to their animals.
