Saturday’s games were postponed this week due to snow and wet conditions. We did however play on Tuesday for a tough midweek game opposing the Bathurst 75 Royals. The game again started well for our team from good lead up play which saw Kade give us a goal lead. The 75’s then began to find their groove with smart positional play and passing which lead to us being penalised twice in the box for what some considered to be questionable infringements. The goal deficit at half time had the team needing to concentrate on closer defence and harder work off the ball to gain some points from the match. Pleasingly we levelled the score at 2 all before conceding another goal in general play ending with a 3-2 loss. A lot was learned from the match and the opportunities missed could have resulted in shared or full points for the team. It will be a tight race for the semis but achievable and the team should be confident of having the ability to beat any of the teams on the day. Cooper Tribolet was Player of the Match, having another very solid game in goal and is one of the reasons for the team having such a good defensive record. He saved one of the penalties and nearly another and is gaining in confidence each match in coming out to the ball and organising his backline in front of him.
