SACS Zeros
The Zero’s trained well this week and were well prepared for their game against their rivals the Firsts. We started well and earned many opportunities to get the ball in the orange ring but the bounces just didn’t go our way. Our defense was outstanding and was led by Felicity Webb who battled all game to secure key rebounds. Holly Stokes was again stellar in the middle with her solid rebounding and shooting. Matilda Proctor had an excellent last two quarters securing rebounds and chipping in a few baskets. Overall a solid performance. Each week we are working towards developing a solid defense. Hopefully with our hard work the points will come. Good defense brings sound offence.
Final score: 21 – 46

U15s Cricket
Last Saturday we took a journey down the Great Western Highway to take on Lithgow at Glanmire 4. Noah opened the bowling and took 2 wickets in the first over to have us well on top. However, Lithgow rallied and put on a big partnership to get back into the game. Xavier then took a handy few wickets to help stem the tide, with Lithgow finishing 5/108. Although our progress was steady, our team struggled to bat at the run rate required. The slow outfield did not help, although the aggressive intent of Zane (30no) and Lachie M (21no) showed that runs could still be rapidly scored. They saw the team home with an over to spare. The Player of the Week is Lachie M, “The Finisher”, who has guided us to victory two games in a row in high-pressure situations. Well done!

SASC Sombreros
Today was great with almost our full side in attendance. The girls started out strong bagging 3 quick tries. After the halfway mark we slowed down a bit and started to lose our structure but regained with about 8 minutes to go. All girls working tirelessly to break through the line. The girls ran away with the win and it ended with 8 tries to 1. Player of the match today went to Harriet. Her communication was appreciated when we started to drop halfway through the game. She ran some hard lines and I am very proud of how she conducted herself through the whole match.
Tries went to Eva, shay-lee, Josie and Harriet

The Pegasus’s
The conditions were near perfect after a very warm start during the day for team Pegasus’s. The game between two SASC (Pegasus’s and Whirlpool) teams was highly contested with both teams being evenly matched in both defence and attack. This was reflected with the early touch down for touch down by the two teams. The Pegasus’s in the late stages of the game scored to claim their first victory of the season after two draws prior. There were many high light performances throughout the game with all players rising to the occasion. The player of the match goes to Charlotte Mitchell for her excellent defence and strong gap running. Game score 5-3.
