Lithgow Pre-K and Years K-6

Within our unique learning environment, classroom teachers have the primary responsibility for educating the whole child – physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. The award-winning Bounce Back program is used to support teachers in their efforts to promote positive wellbeing and resilience for students to build a safe and supportive class and school community. A range of units are embedded in our practice focusing on themes such as; core values, relationships, courage and looking on the bright side.

Our campus

Our Lithgow Campus offers inspiring opportunities for students in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through to Year 6. The campus is conveniently located just off the Great Western Highway, behind the church and provides spacious well-kept grounds and play areas. Our modern facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, technology and library facilities. We also have safe and secure playground areas that foster the imagination of children as they develop and grow confidence in their own self-worth.

Personal Development and Student Wellbeing

The care shown by our teachers towards our students is grounded in our shared faith, reflecting Christian values. Our College has implemented a Positive Psychology approach that endeavours to maximise students’ wellbeing and mental strength during the most important foundation years of their learning. Developed as a new ethos for teachers, students, parents and the College community, our Positive Psychology approach helps to develop skills and attitudes to overcome setbacks, adopt a growth mindset, to be patient and persistent to achieve goals for a purposeful life.
We also employ a peer support program to develop relationships across the classes and help students develop a network away from the family home. Students enjoy interacting and learning with older students which supports their confidence and self-worth.

Academic Curriculum

We aim to provide a safe, positive learning environment that equips students with the knowledge and skills to be life-long learners.

Our Teachers

Our caring and experienced teachers at Lithgow Campus pride themselves on knowing our students individually and understanding their strengths to motivate them to be the best they can be. All students have access to core content, with adjustments to the level of assistance and complexity provided to assist at each stage of their educational journey. The one on one ratio of staff to students is above average with multiple stages together in the school classroom, so students learn from other ages. With qualifications in supporting Gifted and Talented children as well as learning support, the school can cater for individual needs.

After Hours Care

We understand how busy parents are so After School Instruction will be available for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten to Year 6 students, on request until 5.00pm for no extra charge. Charges will be incurred at the rate of $10 for every fifteen (15) minutes after that time.
