The Scots All Saints College Equestrian program is a Co-curricular program designed for students with horses, to train and compete in their chosen disciplines. Equestrian is offered as a Co-curricular activity throughout the year and an ‘Active Afternoon’ program activity on the Senior School Campus.
Agistment of boarders’ horses on campus
A unique feature of Scots All Saints College is the ability for boarding students to bring their horses to school during the term. The Equestrian Centre is close to the boarding houses, allowing boarding students to attend to their horses and ride during the term. Agistment is also available.
Students have a choice of:
- Shared paddocks with electric fencing
- Large private yards (20m by 25m) with rubber lined shelter constructed of metal railing
- A combination of both (paddock in the daytime, yard at night)
There are fully secure tack and feed rooms, wash bays, a 90 metre by 50 metre sand arena, full showjumping course, training cross country course and a sand round yard.
Qualified instructors offer weekly lessons to students in showjumping and flatwork. Students have opportunities for cross country clinics at a local cross country course and polocrosse training sessions. External camp draft and team penning clinics are also available.
Interschool competitions
Equestrian students are encouraged to participate in interschool competitions. The Scots All Saints equestrian team participates in the Northwest Equestrian Expo in Coonabarabran and the Tamworth Inter-Schools Horse Extravaganza. During most years, the College hosts a show jumping competition.
