SASC U7 Lions

Woolworths Master Blaster Under 7’s Cricket: SASC Lions v City Colts 1

Nico was our Captain for this game. Colts won the toss and elected to bowl first. Hayden and Alexander were opening batters for the Lion’s. They proved to be a great partnership and had a lot of fun to boot! Elizabeth and Nico added 22 runs whilst Will and Bill closed our batting, adding a further 42 runs to our total! Our team stayed focused during our time in fielding, encouraging and supporting each other. Our sportsmanship always shines through as our players clap and acknowledge the feats of their opposing team. Thank you to Nico’s family for providing the fruit. This week it was all hands on deck when it came to keeping score. Thank you to all our wonderful parents that are always very happy to step up and assist.

SASC U9s Blue

The boundaries were small but the hitting was big on Friday night as SASC Blue took on Colts at George Park. Colts batted first and the SASC boys had to work hard in the field to defend the small boundaries. The SASC boys managed 3 wickets between them whilst the Colts final batsmen belted us around reaching 75 off his 16 balls. Colts finished with 3 for 150. In reply Ben (19) and Alex (9) got us off to a steady start. Ben hit a nice six whilst Alex ran well between the wickets. Charlie (35) and Rory (31) enjoyed the short boundaries with Rory hitting a 12 and a couple of 8s. Divjot (24) and Kobe (37) were the big improvers this week with Kobe hitting 2 8s. Dylan rounded the innings off with a nice 15 to take the score to 6 for 170. Great effort boys. Just a reminder that this Friday is the final game of the season and that training has now finished.

Girls SASC Blue U14s

Preliminary Finals

On Monday the 11 March the u14 girls (SASC BLUE) played in the preliminary finals against the ‘Pan Girls’. The score was close right up to the final buzzer, but unfortunately did not go the SASC Blue way. The final score was a close 3 points SASC Blue to 4 points Pan Girls. Throughout the whole game all the girls played exceptionally well and never doubted their belief that they could win. The team never gave up and in the last play were trying to level the score to go into extra time. Special mention to Eva Green, Lily Cable and Philippa Webb for their excellent management and on field support of all their team members.

The touch season for all u14’s teams is now over. However, all teams still train to the end of week 8. If you cannot attend please send in a note or email to your coach or to Mr. Walsh.

Pumas v Lions

In another edition of “The Inter-School World Championship” the Pumas lined-up against the Lions in what proved to be a tight contest! Baskets were hard to come-by throughout, with the Lions’ pairing of Cooper and Emily causing constant panic for the Pumas! They are fantastic little players! Sharp-shooting from Callum broke the 0-0 deadlock to put the Pumas ahead! Hard work from Louis, Alex and Liam kept the Pumas ahead marginally at half-time. Will and Riley gave it their all to maintain the Lions’ pressure in the second half! Lachie, Sophie and Pierson played well to finish-off a tight game for the Pumas, who eventually came up with the chocolates! In a great battle of the Big Cats, all players were deservedly awarded with icy poles from the amazing Mrs Walsh! Well done everyone!
