Waste 2 Art was a free waste-inspired art competition and exhibition with a category for every member of the community from pre-school through to aspiring and professional artists. Students from Years 3-6 were invited to take part in lunchtime sessions to create an artwork for the competition.
2023 Waste Theme: Year of Textiles.
Textile is an umbrella term that includes various fibre-based materials, including yarns, threads, and all different fabric types. During these sessions, students were able to sew, glue, cut and paint to create a project of their own design. With limited assistance and time restraints, it was wonderful to observe students’ ability to see their projects through to the end. The artworks were on display during the exhibition at the Bathurst Showgrounds.
