Under 6s Leopards
What a talented team I have! I am confident in saying this is the best game I have seen all season!! William’s family came from Sydney to watch and boy he put on a show scoring many goals, attacking and defending. This was William’s best game! Liam was on fire today. He had control of the ball and was instrumental in our team’s great result. Ethan was wonderful in protecting our goal and making sure that ball stayed where we wanted it! Thomas did some fabulous kicking today scoring a goal from the halfway line WOW!! I could not be more impressed with their efforts today. We didn’t have a sub so they played the whole game. It was quite warm but they powered through! Player of the match was Thomas! Well done Leopards!!
Under 6s Meerkats
The Meerkats found their groove this week with players being rewarded with high fives for every time they kicked the ball. It worked beautifully with players rushing from all directions to get a kick and a high five.
Under 6s Brumbies
What a beautiful spring day Saturday was. A team of 4 turned up Saturday and played amazingly. A very close score with loads of talent from the opposition, but with the boys passing and working together as a team managed to come out with the win. Player’s player was awarded to Ben Alexander for his exceptional teamwork, passing and defending his players. Well done team!
Under 6s Wolves
The Wolves faced a real challenge last Saturday. Bathurst 75 Storm came in with thunder and roared on the field. Yet, The Wolves did their absolute best on the day, not giving up once and pushing hard on the attack. They were rewarded with two goals which were the product of their incredible effort and skills to get past Storm’s strong defence. Whilst everyone did an incredible job on the day, Hunter received the Player of the Week Medal for his impressive perseverance and resilience on the field. Well done Wolves!
Under 7s Emus
The Emus 2nd last game of the year was played at a fast pace keeping Noah, Joel and Jacob on their toes in defence and attack. Hayden had a big game in the middle with the 75s carting the ball up non-stop to him. Lucas added some valuable defence as usual, with Dylan coming away with player of the day with long dribbling runs that put the Emus on the attack. I’m looking forward to our final game on Saturday. Go Emus!!
Under 9s Thunder
The Thunder and Collegians were equally matched on Saturday in conditions that were much warmer than the week before. Collegians scored one goal in the first half and had several key strikes in the second half that were kept out by Harrison Leet in goals and some great work in the backs. With some late positional shuffling, Felix summed up an opportunity and took a shot at goal from a tight angle to level the score. Isabella made one of her best passes of the season to thrill the crowd whilst Emily was very determined in the attack. Despite a late attacking raid by the Collegians, the Thunder proudly defended and held on for a 1-1 draw.
Under 10s
The U10’s played Bathurst 75 Glory in a very close and exciting game with each team taking turns to score. It was a game played in the right spirit despite a few on-field knocks which saw a number of players having to dust themselves off and get back into the game. A stand-out for our team did not even play for our team! Admiration and thanks to our Harry Thorn who willingly played for the opposition allowing them to field a full team. Harry honoured our College’s commitment to ‘Faith and Knowledge, Compassion and Respect’ by playing hard, fast, and with skill for our opposition.
Netball
The Scots All Saints U14 Yellow played in the Preliminary Final on Saturday against Panthers Blackcats. With a fire in their bellies and a thirst for victory, Yellow took to the court gave it all they had. The scores were close at quarter time however as the game went on, Panthers pushed ahead to take the win and secure their spot against Mana in the Grand Final. The girls should be incredibly proud of themselves and the way they have developed their skills as individuals and as a team throughout the season. Each week the team tried hard, displayed wonderful sportsmanship and represented our school with pride. Well done on a fantastic 2019 netball season Yellow!!
