Soccer

Under 6s Collies

Hip, hip, hooray for Saturday sport! What a wonderful day it was on Saturday, 18th July as five of the U6 Collies team members joined together to participate in their first match of the season. I was in awe of their listening skills, ability to learn on the go and their exceptional sportsmanship. Although we replaced handshakes with chicken high-fives, it was so wonderful to come together and represent our school on the sporting field again. Well done to all participants on an excellent first game. I look forward to a fabulous season.

Under 7s Emus

Congratulations Emu’s on a great first game back!! They played so well and adapted fantastically to their new team mates. Each player scored a goal and showed fantastic sportsmanship. Our players showed their kindness by helping the opposing team when someone fell down and helped our team mate when he was hit in the face with the ball.

Under 7s Merinos

On Saturday Scots All Saints Under 7s Merinos had their first game of the season against Bathurst 75s. Students were enthusiastic, arrived promptly on time, looking extremely smart in their SASC Football Uniform. We were able to have 4 players on the field at a time, and this week we had 4 players available so all players were kept busy on the field for the whole 40 minutes. Players are learning to pass the ball to each other and we look forward to our first training session on Friday during Active Afternoons where we can focus on our skills. Looking forward to a fun season ahead.

Under 7s Roos

Well, this was a brilliant first match for The Roos, where everyone showed wonderful skills, loads of enthusiasm and an impressive attitude in and out of the field. Not to mention the 5 goals they scored!! Thank you everyone for an amazing game and thank you James for supporting the team from the sidelines! We’re looking forward to having a full team next week with Hunter coming back from holidays and James fully recovered from surgery.

Under 8s Honeyeaters

The Scots All Saints Honey Eaters had a wonderful first game of soccer on Saturday. They played brilliantly as a team and even successfully scored a goal. Each of the players rotated through a range of positions and gave every position their all. They are to be congratulated on a fabulous effort.

Miss Matheson

Under 9s

A very foggy morning made it hard for the team to get motivated, however, as soon as the whistle went they were ready to play. The game was very close with 2 competitive teams both fighting for the ball back and forth. After half time Scots All Saints fired up and were determined to score a goal. The game was very enjoyable to watch with both teams playing very well together.

Under 10s

U10s were very excited to take the field for their first game of the season. All players were available and ‘ripped in’ regardless of their position. Everyone displayed great sportsmanship including a ‘thumbs up’ for the opposition at the start of the match. Both teams were quite evenly matched. Scots All Saints were admirable in defence and were always there to help each other out. Bathurst 75 led 1-0 at half time before Darcy and Charlie combined for our opening goal. Hugh did a great job saving a late shot at goal from Bathurst 75, before Alex slotted one through in the final moments. It was a very exciting end to very competitive and enjoyable game.
