The College is anticipating the appointment will commence by the beginning of Term 3 2026. Please indicate your likely availability to commence in the position, if you are successful. The College is open to considering a later or earlier commencement date for a strongly preferred candidate.

KEY DATES  

The College is committed to concluding this appointment as soon as possible and ideally by Friday 22 May 2026. To that end, candidates should be prepared to make themselves available on the following dates in case they are called for an interview. At this stage, interviews are most likely to be conducted at the College in Bathurst.

Up to six candidates may be short-listed for an initial interview, of whom two or three may be invited for a second interview.

Please advise Dr Kefford if you are unavailable on either of these dates so that possible alternative dates can be investigated. Please note that an alternative opportunity to be interviewed cannot be guaranteed.

Saturday 2 May is Bathurst Show Day where the College’s Cattle Team will be competing and on Sunday the College is hosting a Pipe Band contest at the Senior School.

Your Role:

Working with the Head of the Senior School, the Head of TAS has responsibility for providing creative and effective leadership of TAS staff, with a commitment to the continuous improvement of the teaching and learning within the TAS team. In addition, the Head of TAS leads the implementation of research informed innovative practice and use of technologies at the College. The Head of TAS is responsible for the ongoing development and supervision of the curriculum and the quality of teaching and learning that is provided to each student.

The Head of TAS will be a person of integrity and professional credibility who will bring to the position zest, enthusiasm and energy and will embrace the ideals of collaboration, co-operation, integrity and teamwork.

The next Head of TAS will be able to bring:

• A culture of excellence

Essential Criteria:

It is expected applications will have:

• Well-developed pedagogical content knowledge and expertise in their subject, preferably including HSC marking

• Successful teaching experience with the capacity to support and develop improvement in teaching and learning.

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to foster positive relationships with students, peers, staff and parents.

Conditions:

• Coordinator 2 leadership allowance as per the Independent Schools NSW (Teachers) Cooperative MEA 2025.

• For eligible applicants, provision of on-site accommodation for up to 6 months and the possibility of ongoing on-campus accommodation

• Subsidised relocation costs may also be discussed with the successful applicant
