French Department End of Year Highlights

As the year draws to a close, our French Department has been buzzing with energy, creativity, and a true love of language. Our Year 8 students have finished their formal French studies for 2025, with several of them choosing to continue their learning next year through Distance Education – a wonderful reflection of their enthusiasm and commitment.

To celebrate the end of the course, Year 8 rolled up their sleeves in the classroom and baked their own baguettes, bringing a little taste of France to Bathurst. Alongside this, many students proudly carried the French picture books they had written and illustrated over to the Junior School for a special sharing session.

Once again, our Year 1 and Year 2 teachers and their classes welcomed us so warmly. The younger students were completely enthralled – eyes wide, hands shooting up with questions, and smiles all around. It was a magical moment of connection: older students sharing their learning, younger students discovering the joy of another language, and everyone celebrating the beauty of storytelling together.

A huge thank you to the Junior School for having us. It is always a pleasure to share our love of French with you, and we look forward to many more moments of language, laughter, and learning in the years ahead.
