From the classroom to the showgrounds: French dioramas win at the Bathurst Show

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from Term 1!

As part of their Year 7 assessment, our students created detailed and imaginative dioramas, showcasing famous landmarks, cultural settings, and creative interpretations of life in the Francophone world. The results were nothing short of spectacular—each piece reflected not only the students’ understanding of the content but also their flair for creativity and design.

This year, for the very first time, several of these student dioramas were entered into the Junior Sculpture section of the Bathurst Show—and we are delighted to announce that they won prizes!

Having their classroom projects acknowledged on such a public stage is a fantastic achievement and reflects the students’ dedication, creativity, and care. From miniature Eiffel Towers to lively French cafés and detailed alpine ski fields, the entries captivated the judges with their precision, imagination, and originality.

This opportunity has opened the door for our students to see how school-based learning can connect with the wider community. We’re incredibly proud of all the students who took part and are excited to continue exploring new and creative ways to share students work beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to all involved—what a magnifique way to start the term!
