ISA Semi Finals Competition Comes to Town
On Saturday 16 August schoolboy rugby teams and their families will take over every available field in Bathurst, as the Independent Sporting Association (ISA) hosts the semi finals of their annual Rugby competition in one location. This is the first time the whole ISA Rugby collective will play semi finals games in place of the previous system of ‘first past the post’ used by the larger divisions.
The 2025 ISA Rugby semi finals extravaganza will see ISA teams travelling to Bathurst to play semi final fixtures across 3 main venues: St. Stanislaus’ College (6 fields) , Scots All Saints College (2 fields) and Hereford Street (4 fields including 2 Bulldogs fields).
All U16 fixtures will be played at Scots All Saints College Senior Campus on the Main Oval and Old Boys’ Oval.
The statistics for the epic event are both remarkable and daunting for the organisers: ISA members, St. Stanislaus’ College and Scots All Saints College.
The day will see 106 teams, 850 players and 150 coaching staff coming from 12 schools with an anticipated 25 buses transporting teams from as far north as the Central Coast, as far south as the Southern Highlands, west to Orange, right across Sydney Basin and everywhere in between. 150 game day officials will officiate proceedings across the three key sites where a total of 53 games will be played with the day kicking off at 10:00am and last fixtures finishing at approx. 5:00pm.
‘‘In evolving the ISA Rugby competition to include semi finals we are thrilled to provide this unique and exciting opportunity to host a full round of ISA Rugby in one location – a true celebration of school sport and the spirit of our Assocation,” says Mr Jonathan Byrne, Chair of ISA.
“We are incrediblly grateful to the strong collaboration across our schools and commend the Heads of Sport and Rugby Convenors for bringing this event to life.”
The crowds at the venues on the day are expected to be significant, with accommodation across Bathurst close to booked out. Visitors and locals wishing to watch the games can find draw details on the ISA website using the following links:
