Operation Christmas Child 2026

Bringing Joy to Children in Need

Over the course of eight weeks, College Year 7 students were involved in Operation Christmas Child, a charity initiative and global project run by the international relief organisation, Samaritan’s Purse.

The Operation Christmas Child initiative engages community groups in the collection and distribution of toys and supply-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world.

For this project, Scots All Saints College partners with Hope Church Bathurst to deliver the boxes.

Working to bring as much joy to children as possible, Year 7 students formed small groups during their Wellbeing lessons, planned which items they would contribute to the boxes, created Christmas cards for each recipient and produced 30 boxes packed with care.

A gold coin donation challenge was organised across Senior School to help cover delivery costs as packages travel to children in need to distant places including Asia, Africa and South America.

Through Operation Christmas Child, Year 7 students gained a better understanding of the needs of less fortunate children around the world, practiced compassion and experienced first-hand the ripple effect of small acts of kindness and the benefits of working together to bring joy to others.

Year 7 SRC representatives, Mr Dan Odell (College Chaplain) and Mr Geoff Clifon-Smith (Head of Year 7) gave an insight into their experience with Operation Christmas Child 2026.
