Secret Creek Sanctuary Excursion

The weather held off for Kindergarten and Year 1 on Tuesday 19 May to enjoy a full day of activities at Secret Creek Sanctuary in Lithgow.

Students enjoyed a cultural workshop from Uncle Bill featuring some songs and stories from his country and a talk from Ranger Trevor, who brought along his python, much to the delight of the students.

Students toured the sanctuary and enjoyed the opportunity to walk among some of Australia’s endangered species, including the spotted-tailed quoll, koala, and Tasmanian devil.

The sanctuary also provides an opportunity for other unique species like pademelons, brush-tailed rock wallabies and parma wallabies to live without the threat of feral species, and it was a real thrill to watch these animals thriving in their habitat.

The dingo was also very popular, as were the emus and Cape Barren Geese.
