Congratulations to our Junior School and Senior School students who entered this year’s Waste2Art Competition. The exhibition, which ran from Saturday to Tuesday in the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre, showcased works from adults to Kindergarten students.
This year’s theme was ‘packaging’, which created awareness of issues relating to waste and environmental sustainability. Did you know that Aussies throw away around 1.9 million tonnes of packaging each year?
A collaborative creative hub was in action on the Junior School Campus last term involving both Junior and Senior students. From this group, creative artworks were made out of commercial packaging in 2D, 3D and functional pieces. Congratulations to Oliver Carroll and Evie Adams (Year 10), who both won Highly Commended for their categories.
Exhibiting students from the Junior School were:
Leila Fisk, Leanna Klower and Sarah Morris.
Skyla Gould, Isabella Munns and Pippa Berry.
Lexie Brownlow, Emily Brown, Zoe Weekes and Portia Hoghton.
Mia Gilmore, Viv Jarvis, Evie Adams, Aaliah Shrestha and Chloe McKay.
Vin Pearce, Dimitri Gould and William Burrel.
From the Senior School:
Oliver Carroll and Evie Adams.
Keep an eye out for co-curricular artmaking on a Tuesday afternoon (Senior students) for more opportunities to enter future art Competitions.
