Over the past three weeks in Science, Year 9 students have been participating in an applied science project.
Students chose their project from either Marine Biology, Forensic Science, Chemistry of Cosmetics, or movie mythbusters. They were required to research, solve problems, experiment, and connect with the greater science community to gain a better understanding and appreciation of how science is applied in the world around them.
I would like to thank Karla McDiarmid from Macquarie Medi Spa and Forensic Detective Matthew Simcock from the NSW Police for coming into our lessons this week and sharing their expertise with the students in these projects.
The students immensely enjoyed these experiences and hopefully have gained insight to the importance of science knowledge in many diverse fields.
Mrs Cassie Pearce, Head of Science
