Boarding

Discover a sense of belonging

At the heart of our College Boarding community is a strong sense of place and belonging, where friendships are formed and connections nurtured to support young people to grow with confidence as they live and learn together.

Why board with us?

Boarding is a core pillar of our diverse Scots All Saints College education experience.

We have a deep understanding of the unique responsibilities of supporting students and creating a warm, welcoming, engaging atmosphere for students and their families, and we bring together the extensive boarding history of our preceding colleges (The Scots School Bathurst and All Saints’ College).

With the advantage of wide-open campuses, fresh air and unrivalled space to thrive, Scots All Saints College supports regional and rural boarding students with a safe, secure and continuous learning environment.

The recent refurbishment and upgrade of Bulkeley House saw it  re-open in January 2025, facilitating the commencement of our new dedicated Junior Boys’ Boarding experience. This new focused Boarding experience has been specially designed to support boys through their lower secondary years, with a range of activities, facilities and staff dedicated to their growth and development.

Boarding options

Full-time, weekly and short-term boarding accommodation is available to girls and boys from Years 7 to 12, all located on one campus (Senior School), allowing students to walk to class and easily participate in before and after school programs.

Weekly boarding is offered as an option for Scots All Saints College students wishing to return home each week on Friday afternoon, at the conclusion of the school day, returning on Sunday afternoon.

Contact our Registrar to enquire about the current availability of casual boarding as an option to help your child achieve the most from their living and learning journey at College.

Boarding facilities

The Senior School Campus, home to all boarding accommodation, gives students access to approximately 140 acres and includes a working farm with cattle and sheep and an Equestrian Centre which offers Boarding students agistment for their horses during term time.

On-campus sport, recreation an extension program facilities include a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, Performing Arts Centre, Sports Centre,  numerous sporting ovals, tennis courts, a library resource centre, Agriculture Centre, Wellness Space and a dining hall serving well-balanced, nutritious meals.

We run a dedicated ‘Boarders Bus’ which takes boarding students to a wide range of activities around Bathurst including music, dance, swimming and other outside school opportunities.

Boarding students (Years 7 to 12) enjoy a dedicated space to live and learn on campus, with excellent facilities and a safe, secure and comfortable environment.

All our College boarding accommodation is sited around the perimeter of Hector Oval (aka “Main Oval”), with Thompson House (boys) and Galloway House (girls), on the north western side near the Equestrian Centre, Ives House (girls) on the northern side and Bulkeley House (boys) on the eastern side.

Thompson, Galloway and Ives Houses have had recent upgrades and, along with the fully-refurbished Bulkeley House, offer modern, comfortable, private accommodation with study spaces, communal recreational areas and kitchens.

Experienced boarding team

The Scots All Saints College Boarding team work closely with parents and carers, encouraging students to take full advantage of the opportunities at the College.

Each boarding house has a Head of House who is supported by residential house assistants (RAs) to provide care for all students living in their boarding house. Students are assisted with ‘prep’ (homework) and programs to assist with life-skills, including preparing meals, excursions and outings outside of school hours.

At Scots All Saints College we recognise the importance of allowing siblings to remain connected and our ‘all on one campus’ boarding along with communal dining for boys and girls offers additional comfort to families, with the convenience of all children living and learning together.
