French excursion to Sydney

On Monday, 3 April, Year 8 French students enjoyed a real experience in Sydney.

On arrival at the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington, we enjoyed a delicious morning tea of French pastries before enjoying the screening of the truly inspiring film Tempete as part of the French Film Festival.

Afterwards, we travelled to the International French School – Lycee Concordet, in Maroubra.

We had lunch with the very positive Antony Jankx, Deputy Principal and Head of Well Being Raphael Teulet. They shared with us the history of the school and their experiences as teachers working all over the world. In particular, they expressed the importance of learning another language. We were in awe of the students we met and their way of life and education.  A group of very lovely and welcoming Year 10 and 11 students gave us a tour of the school, explaining to us about the French Education System, which was truly fascinating. A slice of France in Sydney!

The trip was amazing and all that attended agree that the whole occasion was a highlight, one that has made a lasting impression.

Thanks to Madame for organising and making this day so educational and formative.
