Absences & Leave

Parents must provide the college with a reason for any student absence.

Types of Absence or Leave

General absence – up to 2 school days absence

Extended Leave – for 3 school days or more

General Student Absences

If a student is noted as absent when their class roll is marked and a reason has not been provided via Edumate’s CarerOrbit app or other communication, the student’s primary parent or carer will be contacted to provide details of the absence. Contact details located within Edumate will be used to communicate with parents and carers. If you need to update your contact details please log in to Edumate’s web portal to do so. Application for Extended Leave  – for 3 school days or more

Parents and carers wishing to apply for extended leave from school must complete an Application for Extended Leave from Attendance At School Form which can be accessed via the Forms button in CarerOrbit app or direct login to the secure parent forms app, Paperly. See Parent Communication App page for details on how to connect with these apps.

On Paperly, please see the Welcome/homepage in your Paperly account under ‘Self Service Forms’ to find this application form (JS – Junior School; SS – Senior School) . When the form is submitted it is emailed automatically to key staff for review and approval. 

If the Extended Leave application is approved a Certificate of Exemption is generated and communicated to parents and carers as evidence of approval to take extended leave.  

Student Absence and Extended Leave Forms Alternative

Should parents and carers be unable to use Edumate, CarerOrbit app or Paperly to access these forms they should email details of the student’s absence or email a request for an application for leave document to either: 

Junior School Absences or

Senior School Absences.
