Shooting Star Mia Baggett

CELEBRATING AN INCREDIBLE PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT

Our very own shooting star, 2022 graduate Mia Baggett, is still buzzing with excitement after coming away with a bronze medal from the Under 19 National Netball Championships in Darwin 11-16th April, and being selected in the Under 19 National Pathway squad, ‘2023 Australian 19/U Squad’.

One of four netball shooters in NSW’s team at the Championships, Mia’s time on court was initially limited, but increased as the tournament progressed. Her perseverance, discipline and hard work paid dividends with some exceptional on-court performances that culminated in her finishing as the top scorer for NSW (18 points) in their nail-biting comeback 37-36 bronze medal game victory over Victoria.

Hailing from Mudgee, Mia joined Scots All Saints in Year 10 as a Boarding student and was well known as a talented pianist, dedicated student and a gifted netball player, who invested extra time in training and studying.

Mia is currently balancing her first year of study at Sydney University (Bachelor of Primary Education) with her commitments playing Premier League netball for UTS Randwick Sparks and is thriving on the busyness and new challenges of life beyond school.

We congratulate Mia and wish her well in all her endeavours.
