On Sunday, October 17, Sydney Opera House hosted the 46th Annual Suzuki Graduation Concert. This event, hosted by the Suzuki Music Association of NSW, celebrated the dedication and achievements of young musicians in the Suzuki Program, a globally renowned music education method.
Under the expert guidance of Mrs Antonia Schmid, a highly regarded Suzuki Program tutor, six of our Junior School music students demonstrated their violin skills, graduating to the next level of the Suzuki program. The Graduation Concert is a significant milestone for students in the Suzuki Program, representing not only their proficiency but also their discipline and passion for music.
Our congratulations go to Sophie Roberts, Isabelle Carter, Savannah Wilkinson, Benjamin Carter and Liam Boyd for graduating Level 1 and to Audrey Clipsham for the wonderful achievement of graduating Level 3.
A highlight of the day came when pupils who had not yet graduated took to the iconic Concert Hall stage to join in the final performance of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”. This beloved piece, a cornerstone of the Suzuki repertoire, symbolizes the beginning of every Suzuki student’s journey and serves as a beautiful reminder of the program’s emphasis on fostering a lifelong love of music. Our congratulations to Walter Clipsham, Jaxon Boyd, Layla Wilkinson, and Chester Clipsham for their accomplished performance in the finale.
Participating in such a prestigious event is a testament to the student’s hard work and the support of their families, who are also registered members of the Suzuki Music Association of NSW. It was a day of celebration, music, and inspiration as young musicians from across the state shared their talents in one of the world’s most iconic venues.
Scots All Saints College is incredibly proud of these students for representing our school with distinction. Their dedication, coupled with the exceptional instruction of Mrs Schmid, underscores the power of music to enrich lives and bring communities together. Congratulations to our budding musicians for their outstanding achievements, and may their journey in music continue to flourish.
We look forward to seeing more of our talented students take part in such inspiring events in the future!
